Look at that view!

This is the view I get to see driving out of my neighborhood every day. Isn’t magnificent?

Several years ago I moved away following a job opportunity to Seattle, WA. There is no denying the beauty of the “Emerald City.” It is undeniable in its grace. I still miss it, especially on dry hot days here in the dessert. However, on a day like today, when you can see these lovely giants through the clear blue, my heart stops in wonder. It literally takes my breath away and though I miss my home and friends in the Northwest, there is nothing like being home in this mountain valley.

I remember my first winter in Seattle, I was still adjusting to the constant rain. The cloud cover almost makes you forget that the sun exists at all. I decided to come home for Christmas and the first thing I saw were these snow covered sentinels standing watch over my childhood home. I will never forget the gratitude I felt in that moment for these lovely gifts of nature. God is truly an artist to have created the wondrous masterpiece we Earthlings call home.
